Regular Reference for Selecting Crushers for the Ore with Large Diameter

Equipment selecting is great importance in ore processing. The acceptable maximum feeding size, finished ore size, and the crushing way will directly affect the production capacity and actual profit of quarries. Therefore, ore processing and selection of crushers are important. Herein, this article will mainly introduce the application field and basic working principle of the common crushers, so as to select crushing plant exactly during operation.

To crush materials, the roller crushers grip materials into crushing area under friction force generated on surface of the roller and materials will be pressed and cracked. While the equipments are used for primary crushing or to increase the crushing ratio, teeth or grooves will the created on the roller surface to increase flerry force. According to number of rollers, roller mills are generally classified as single rollered, double rollered and multiple rollered crushers, which are prepared for coarse crushing, intermediate crushing and fine crushing of materiasl with hardness under intermediate level such as coal, limestone, cement clinkers, feldspar,and so on.

Combination crushers are used to crush materials with Moh's hardness under 140 Mpa and humidity below 15%, in field of construction materials, ores, metallurgy, chemistry for materials such as limestone, clinker, coal and other materials and so on. They are the earliest crushing plants. Because of their limited crushing power and capacity, they have increasingly been replaced by jaw crushers.

Jaw crushers implement primary or medium crushing for materials with various harness through compression and bending function generated between two jaw plats. The crushing unit is composed of fixed jaw plate and mobile jaw plate, materials will be crushed while two jaw plates coming colser, and materials with grain size smaller than the discharge opening will be discharged while two plates are leaving each other. Crushing are implemented at certain interval. Crushers of this type have advantages of simple structure, stable working and are availbe for materials of various hardness. Thus, they are widely used in departments of ore slecting, construction materials, silicate and ceramic and so on.


In medium and fine crushing field of ores, cone crushers are better choice. Requirement of finished size and evenness for medium and fine crushing is higher than that of primary crushing. Thus, a parallel area should be set on bottom of the crushing cavity. Meanwhile, running speed of crushing cone should be accelertated, so that materials can be crushed for more than once in the parallel area. Hammer crushers have advantages of high crushing ratio, even finished size, less over-crushed powder materials, less power consumption and so on. However, wearness of hammer crushers is high, they are limited in crushing materials with higher hardness; furthermore, as cage bars should be protect from plugging, they should not be used to crush materials with high humidity and mixed with clunch. Comparing with hammer crushers, impact crushers crush materials through repeat impact of materials generated by high speed impact of hammers and rebound force of impact plante. Bars are fixed on the high-speed rolling rotator, and impact plates are arranged according to different directions alongside the crushing cavity. Impact crushers have high crushing ratio, and high speed impact powder of the whole rotator can be fully utilized. However, because of easy wearness of bars, its use for hard material crushing should be limited and can usually be used for coarse crushing, mediate crushing or fine crushing of brittle materials with hardness below mediate hardness, such as limestone, coal, Calcium carbide, quartz, dolomite, iron pyrites, gypsum and chemical raw materials.
