According to the structure of the tank, the magnetic separator is divided into three types: downstream type, countercurrent type and semi-countercurrent type. The particle size of magnetic separators with three different tank types is as follows: downstream tank ≤ 6mm, countercurrent tank ≤ 1.5mm, semi-countercurrent tank ≤ 0.5mm.

The downstream magnetic separator has a large processing capacity, which is suitable for roughing and selecting coarse-grained and strong magnetic materials, and it can also work in series with multiple sets. When the downstream magnetic separator feeds a large amount of ore, the magnetic ore particles are easily lost in the tailings, so the operation and management must be strengthened to control the lower pulp level.

Countercurrent magnetic separator is suitable for roughing and sweeping of fine-grained strong magnetic minerals, with high recovery rate but low concentrate grade. Because coarse-grained materials are easy to deposit and block the sorting space, countercurrent magnetic separators are not suitable for processing coarse-grained materials.

Semi-countercurrent magnetic separator can obtain high-quality iron ore concentrate, and can also get better recovery rate, so semi-countercurrent magnetic separator is widely used in production practice. It is suitable for roughing and beneficiation of ore particles below 0.5mm, and multiple sets can be connected in series and parallel to realize multiple sweeping and beneficiation.

4. Brief Introduction of Jaw Crusher
